Privacy

This notice explains what The Swipe Signal collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter we store the email address you give us, the page you submitted it from, the IP address the request came from, your browser user-agent string, and the timestamp. That is the whole record.

If you choose to join the reply-rate panel we additionally store the anonymised messaging statistics you explicitly share. Panel participation is separate from the newsletter, always opt-in, and never inferred.

Why we collect it

The email address is used to send the weekly issue and nothing else. The IP address and user-agent are kept for a short window to detect and block automated signup abuse. Panel statistics exist only to compute the aggregates we publish; we never publish anything traceable to a person.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not share it with advertising networks or with the dating companies we cover. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and there are no cookies set by this page beyond what is strictly needed to serve it.

How long we keep it

Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe. Abuse-prevention data (IP and user-agent) is discarded after ninety days. Panel data is kept in anonymised form for as long as the published aggregates need it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Unsubscribing deletes your subscriber record outright rather than flagging it. Write to hello@theswipesignal.com and we will act within thirty days.

If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
