Reviews are opinions

The Swipe Signal publishes reviews, scores, and commentary about dating apps and dating culture. Signal Scores and verdicts are our editorial opinions, formed from documented testing, and are protected as such. They describe our experience of an app during the period we tested it; your experience may differ, and apps change after we score them.

Independence

We accept no advertising from dating companies, no affiliate commissions, no free subscriptions, and no early access in exchange for coverage. We pay for the accounts we test with. If that ever changes for a specific piece, the piece will say so at the top.

This is not professional advice

Nothing we publish is medical, psychological, legal, or safety advice, and nothing takes your personal circumstances into account, because we do not know them. Meeting people from the internet carries real risks that no score can remove. Use your judgement, and take safety guidance from qualified sources.

Accuracy

We work from our own testing and from sources we believe to be reliable, and we name them so you can check. We do not warrant that any of it is accurate, complete, or current — app pricing and features in particular change without notice.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape, resell, or redistribute the issues or the scoreboard. Do not attempt to breach or degrade the service. Do not use the subscribe form to submit an address that is not yours.

Intellectual property

The scores, scoring method, copy, and design are ours. Quoting with attribution is welcome; wholesale reproduction is not.

Availability and changes

The site and newsletter are provided as-is. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of them. We will give reasonable notice before a change that materially reduces what a subscriber receives.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or newsletter, or for the outcome of decisions you make with our material — including which apps you use and whom you choose to meet. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and the courts of [jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
